Educação em saúde com foco nas violências de gênero: revisão sistemática

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the academic productions published from 2018 to 2023 about gender-based violence and the contribution from the fields of education and health regarding prevention strategies and confrontation of violence. Gender-based violence is a public health issue that affects the women's well-being, their physical, mental, and psychological state balance, in other words, their quality of life, and the prevention of these problems require comprehensive and integrated approaches. This is qualitative research with a systematic review of articles in the Scielo database in March 2023.  The following descriptors were used: "education" AND "gender violence" AND "health" in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) platform, in March 2023, with the time frame from 2018 to 2022. In this first search 15 articles were identified. Four articles that were closest to the proposed objectives were selected. Among these selected studies, the inclusion criteria were based on the keywords found in the titles, the time frame, and the descriptors, which are based on the phenomenon of gender-based violence, education, and health. The results highlight the importance of discussing gender and gender-based violence in professional training and practice in healthcare, especially in nursing.
