Keywords:

The literature shows that reduced rates of absenteeism, satisfactory rates of quality of life, less stress, career success, productivity and job satisfaction are associated with psychological capital at higher levels. Within this context, the present study aims to assess the psychological capital of hospital employees. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense, opinion n. 4.183.925. It is a cross-sectional quantitative study, with the participation of 49 employees. To conduct the research, a virtual questionnaire was used, through the Google Forms platform, composed by the Scale of Psychological Capital, in its reduced version (CPQ12), proposed by Luthans et al., And by a specific questionnaire to collect information about the aspects sociodemographic and occupational. The participants had a PsyCap level of 4.87, which is higher than the average. The results of the research demonstrate that even in the face of challenges arising from the pandemic, workers consider themselves able to deal with challenges, are optimistic in negative situations, expect positive results and recover quickly after setbacks.
