The use of entomopathogenic fungi to control insect pests is a measure that does not generate toxic residues in the environment and is selective for non-target organisms. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the association between homeopathic preparations and the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana on adults of Drosophila suzukii. In a completely randomized experimental design and under laboratory conditions, four different treatments were tested: homeopathic preparations of Barrita carbonica, Kali iodatum and Sepia succus, all at 30CH potency, individually associated with B. bassiana and only sterile water as a control. The homeopathic preparations were added to the 5% potato-dextrose-agar medium, before solidification, onto which the B. bassiana isolate was subcultured. Equal portions of the fungal mass of B. bassiana, obtained from each association under test, were added to the artificial diet offered to adults of D. suzukii. Data on mortality of D. suzukii were subjected to 5% analysis of variance (ANOVA). Homeopathic preparations associated with the entomopathogenic fungus B. bassiana did not enhance the control action when added to the diet of D. suzukii adults. It is concluded that new studies to verify the possible modes of action of B. bassiana associated with homeopathic preparations on D. suzukii adults should be carried out, and the effect on other phases of the biological cycle of this pest can also be investigated.
